DOING GOOD BETTER:
The City of Cape Towns’ GIVE RESPONSIBLY campaigns discourage residents and visitors form giving hand outs to street people (adults and children), urging them to make donations to NGO’s in the area or to give vouchers.
In support of the campaign we encourage the public to
“TAKE CASH OUT OF THE SYSTEM” by buying food vouchers, giving it to beggars/homeless people and refer people in need to organisations in the community who will assist them.
If you support children and other people on the street by giving money, you actually support a bad habit of children not going to school and people not wanting to work.
Monthly awareness campaigns takes place in Brackenfell.
